Outline application has been submitted (21/00545/OUTM) for a residential development of up to 55 dwellings and the construction of a 78 space car park to serve the nearby Lichfield Trent Valley Railway Station.

The site is located off Burton Road to the east of Lichfield City centre, measuring c. 3.81 acres (1.54 ha). The site comprises a largely rectangular parcel of land formerly used as a depot by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Currently two vacant warehouses extending in total to c. 51,000 sq ft are present on site.

The land comprising the 78 space car park will be retained by Network Rail and leased to a car park operator – it does not form part of this sale.

The site is offered for sale by way of informal tender for the residential land. Offers are invited for the site on a conditional and/or unconditional basis. All offers should be supported by confirmation of:

Timescales for exchange and completion

Buyer to undertake to pay up to £25,000 + VAT of Network Rail’s legal costs and £20,000 + VAT of Network Rail’s Surveyors costs from outset.

The successful developer is required to construct the station car park and access to Network Rail’s satisfaction at their cost.
